Methods and Policies for Providing Access and Enabling Sharing:

Datasets and metadata will be stored in the DataSpace repository at the University of Southern Mississippi, which is expected to be operational in 2017. DataSpace is being developed as part of an NSF-MRI grant (# ACI 1626217) and will be supported by the USM Library and the USM Office of Information Technology. The repository is specifically designed and intended for the long-term (indefinite) storage of research data. All data submissions to DataSpace will be assigned a permanent URL. This URL provides web access to the submitted data. DataSpace will also support access and sharing of metadata via the Open Access Initiative data harvesting protocols. All data generated by this research will be deposited in DataSpace and made publicly available. The URLs generated by DataSpace will be included in publications derived from the research, thereby making it possible for all interested parties to access the data.
